We often have ACHS cats in our cat condo at the shop who are available for adoption.
We do not currently have a Friendly Paws adoption program.

FOUND PETS
Athens does not have a cat shelter. Our humane society employs 1.5 staff members to assist the entire county. Please remember they are very busy and may not be able to assist as quickly as you would like with found or stray cats. Be patient and visit our resources page to help you find homes on your own. If you have found a cat or dog, please list them on the ACHS Lost/Found Facebook page and contact the Athens County Dog Shelter for found dogs and to adopt.
Nova Lee (grey) is the mom to Americus (tuxedo). Nova is about 2 years old and her kitten is about 7 months. These two were rescued from the garden center across the street when Americus was quite young. They arrived here at the shop at the end of July and have been settling in. Both are a bit cautious but really enjoy being pet. Nova leans into it and makes biscuits like it’s a competition. Americus wants to run and play but also gets settled into a good love session. These gals we need some time to adjust to a new household but will be a wonderful addition to your life.
Adoption fee is $100 each to the Athens County Humane Society. Typically, each pet they intake costs an average of $350 to get ready for adoption, therefore additional donations are always welcome if you are able.
We are open 10-7pm weekdays and
